Michael at the Starbase

Michael is currently at the Starbase in South Texas, the actually most futuristic place on the planet. Elon Musk´s company SpaceX has built here the Starship the world’s largest and most powerful spaceship and launch system ever.

The massive spacecraft is 50 meters tall and has a diameter of 9 meters. In the future, it will be able to carry up to 100 passengers per flight. For the upcoming first orbital launch attempt, the Starship is mounted on the Super Heavy Booster. Together, this rocket system is 120 meters tall and will be completely reusable. The Starship will change the way we explore the solar system. It will be able to transport 100 metric tons of cargo, including humans, on regular, cost-effective missions to space. In addition, the ship is designed to be refueled in Earth orbit by other Starships already positioned there. Only then will it be possible to transport people to and from Mars.

The historic Starship launch attempt is now scheduled for tomorrow morning (local time). If the flight will be successful, a new chapter of space exploration will begin. The door to land astronauts on Mars will be wide open. However, nobody has tried such huge launch before, it is new territory, everything is possible.
